How and where do you enrol?
All registrations for the TAL take place on the CLA website (not in Uniweb) on different pages depending on who has to take the test.
- For the TAL included in your study plan (including students from the Galilean School of Higher Education) you need to register here: TAL Registrations and respect the opening and closing dates for registration. When registering it is important to:
- know what level and skills are expected from your degree programme,
- have included the examination in your study plan,
- be in good standing with the payment of university taxes,
- Click on the link to register your exam,
- Read carefully the information on the registration page in Moodle,
- click on the specific session indicating the date and time of the test,
- click on the “register” button at the bottom of the page.
Only at this point will you have registered for your test:
- The TAL for Future Students can be registered on a dedicated page using the Unipd institutional email address (if available, or using a temporary numerical address).
- The TAL for Erasmus outgoing students (or other outgoing mobility grants) can be registered on a dedicated page.
- The TAL for professors and Phd students who teach in English can be registered on the TAL Registrations page, respecting the opening and closing registration deadlines.
Is it possible to know in advance the exam dates for the academic year?
Yes. All the dates are published in the CLA website at the page TAL test dates. You will have to select the type of exam you require (eg. TAL B1 reading and listening) and search the dates that correspond to your School or degree course.
When do I register for the TAL?
The registrations open 3 weeks prior to the test and close one week before, unless the number of places available has been reached. If a student has not registered during the registration period, he or she will not be able to register.
The only exception will be made in cases where the student has to take both the written and oral exam of the same CEFR level in the same shift within a short timespan, but due to technical problems relating to the correction of the written exam was unable to register in time for the oral test, despite respecting the registration time.
When I register for a TAL test can I choose the time of the test?
On registering you are asked to click on a specific date among one or more time slots available. If there is more than one shift, you can click on the session, the date and the time you prefer.
Is successful registration confirmed?
On registering, a notification with the word “registered” will appear automatically. Subsequently, one or two days before the test you will receive a confirmation email of the reservation made at your institutional email address, stating the start time of the test, the classroom and instructions for carrying out the test.
Is it possible to unsubscribe from a test?
If you are registered for a shift and then find that you will no longer be able to come to the exam, you can unsubscribe by the closing date of registrations (one week before the start of that call). After the closing of the registrations, you will not be able to cancel your registration.
If you cannot unsubscribe, you do not need to inform the Academic Office. You can simply miss the exam where you are considered absent. You can still register for any subsequent call.
