- TAL = Test of Language Ability
- TAL for receptive skills = Language testing that verifies reading and listening skills – included in one single test
- TAL for productive skills = Language Testing that verifies writing and oral skills – these are two separate tests
- LT = “Laurea triennale” 3-year undergraduate degree (eg. LT Engineering = 3-year Degrees at the School of Engineering)
- LM = “Laurea Magistrale” Master’s Degrees (eg. LM Sciences = 2-year Masters Degrees at the School of Sciences)
- Matricola = Newly enrolled student in the current academic year
- Laureando = Student with max two exams remaining, as well as the final examination
- Future student = A student at the pre-enrollment phase
- Course participant = A student who follows a TAL preparation course during the current academic year
- OB = Open Badge, digital certification that certifies the skills acquired, that can be downloaded in pdf format as proof of successful completion of the TAL
- IDO = Idoneo – passed the tests
- NID = Non idoneo – failed the test
- NA – NID = Non idoneo – failed the test, because it was too short or incomplete.
