Italian courses for international students enrolled at the University of Padova

The Language Center (CLA) organises Italian language courses for international students (degree-seekers) enrolled at University of Padova.
The courses cover levels Pre-A1 to C1 of the CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and are aimed at:

  • International students (degree-seekers) enrolled at the University of Padova.
  • Visiting students working on their thesis at the University of Padova.

IMPORTANT : Attendance is free of charge.
Since places are limited, students who have never attended an Italian language course at the Language Center always receive priority.
Students who have already attended a course (regardless of the type and duration) will be able to enroll in a further course, but if places run out they will be placed on a waiting list, which will be scrolled in the event of withdrawals/no shows.

Only specific categories of students can take up to three free courses:
– students that have to obtain 3 ECTS of ITALIAN LANGUAGE or LABORATORIO DI LINGUA ITALIANA within their study plan;
– political refugees;
– students of Medicine and Surgery;
– students of Scuola Galileiana;
– students of Languages, Literature and Cultural Mediation.

ContentsDevelop mainly communication and oral interaction skills.
LevelsOffered for CEFR levels from PreA1 to B2.
PeriodsProposed each academic year in February, July and September.
Duration30 hours of intensive classes, organised within 2/3 weeks.
EnrolmentRegistrations open in January, June and July.

Contents Develop all language skills.
LevelsOffered for all CEFR levels from PreA1 to C1.
PeriodsOne session proposed for each semester.
Duration40 hours of classes and 10 of self-study, organised throughout the semester
(2 meetings of 2 hours each per week).
EnrolmentRegistrations open in September and February.
CreditsOnly Erasmus+ and Bilateral Agreement students can obtain 3 ECTS.

ContentsDevelop all language skills with a focus on the medical area.
LevelsOffered at B1 level.
PeriodsOne session proposed in the second semester.
EnrolmentRegistrations open in January-February.
CreditsOnly students whose study plan includes course unit MEP9086039 can obtain 3 ECTS.

N.B. Medicine and Surgery students can attend up to three Italian courses freely amongst the above listed ones (intensive, biannual, for medicine). For futher information about the specific Italian offer for medicine and to undestand how to obtain 3 ECTS, students should consult the dedicated webpage.

Preparation course to

the A2 Italian Language Test

 


ContentsDevelop reading and listening skills.
LevelsOffered at A2 level, aimed at students who already have at least an A1 level of Italian.
PeriodsAlways available online for self-learning.

N.B. Local development, Computer engineering, Environmental engineering and Water and geological risk engineering students can attend up to three Italian courses freely between the intensive and biannual ones.
