Italian courses for international students enrolled at the University of Padova
The Language Center (CLA) organises Italian language courses for international students (degree-seekers) enrolled at University of Padova.
The courses cover levels Pre-A1 to C1 of the CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and are aimed at:
- International students (degree-seekers) enrolled at the University of Padova.
- Visiting students working on their thesis at the University of Padova.
Italian courses free of charge
IMPORTANT : Attendance is free of charge.
Since places are limited, students who have never attended an Italian language course at the Language Center always receive priority.
Students who have already attended a course (regardless of the type and duration) will be able to enroll in a further course, but if places run out they will be placed on a waiting list, which will be scrolled in the event of withdrawals/no shows.
Only specific categories of students can take up to three free courses:
– students that have ITALIAN LANGUAGE or LABORATORIO DI LINGUA ITALIANA in their study plan;
– political refugees;
– students of Medicine and Surgery;
– students of Scuola Galileiana;
– students of Languages, Literature and Cultural Mediation.
Open to all students listed above:
Intensive communicative
Italian courses
Contents | Develop all language skills. |
Levels | Offered for CEFR levels A2 and B1+. |
Periods | Proposed each academic year during the second semester (usually from May to June). |
Duration | 30 hours delivered twice a week. |
Enrolment | Registrations open in March. |
Open to all students listed above:
Contents | Develop all language skills. |
Levels | Offered for all CEFR levels from PreA1 to C1. |
Periods | One session proposed for each semester. |
Duration | 40 hours of classes and 10 of self-study, organised throughout the semester
(2 meetings of 2 hours each per week). |
Enrolment | Registrations open in September and February. |
Credits | Only Erasmus+ and Bilateral Agreement students can obtain 3 ECTS for LABORATORIO DI LINGUA ITALIANA L2. |
Only for international students of Medicine and Surgery and other medicine courses students and interns:
Italian course
for Medicine and Surgery
Contents | Develop all language skills with a focus on the medical area. |
Levels | Offered at B1 level. |
Periods | One session proposed in the second semester. |
Enrolment | Registrations open in January-February. |
N.B. Medicine and Surgery students can attend up to three Italian courses freely amongst the above listed ones (intensive, biannual, for medicine). For futher information about the specific Italian offer for medicine, students should consult the dedicated webpage.
Only for international students of the Master’s in Computer engineering, Environmental engineering, Water and geological risk engineering, Local development:
Preparation course to
the A2 Italian Language Test
Contents | Develop reading and listening skills. |
Levels | Offered at A2 level, aimed at students who already have at least an A1 level of Italian. |
Periods | Always available online for self-learning. |
N.B. Local development, Computer engineering, Environmental engineering and Water and geological risk engineering students can attend up to three Italian courses freely between the intensive and biannual ones.
