Italian version
The University Language Centre organises TAL reading and listening tests in English for external candidates (who have already completed a three-year degree at the University of Padua or at other Italian universities) who are pre-enrolling for the 2026/27 academic year on one of the following Master’s degree (LM) or Bachelor’s degree (LT) programmes at the University of Padua.
The level required for most of the degree programmes listed below is B2. The only exceptions are certain degree programmes in the Humanities (Landscape Sciences and Historical Sciences), for which B1 is required.

Indications and instructions for enrollment in the English reading and listening test for future students:
Admitted Students
Only candidates who are registering for one of the above courses will be admitted to take the test.
Candidates are NOT admitted in the following cases:
- Students with a foreign degree. They are required to provide another certificate during the admission procedure.
- Unipd students who have this TAL test in their Bachelor’s study plan; in case of registration, the test will be invalidated.
- Unipd students who have already passed this TAL test during their Bachelor’s degree programme and have already received the Open Badge; if they enrol, the test will be invalidated.
The test is an opportunity for those who do not have an internationally recognized B2 level English language certification and are enrolling in one of the Masters’ degrees listed above, that require to demonstrate a B2 level of English as a mandatory admission pre-requisite.
Test enrolment
Registration and test dates:
To access the Moodle platform, from which registration is made, candidates have to use the Uniweb credentials provided during the pre-enrolment.
Upon first accessing Moodle, students must enter their name, surname, personal email address and will receive an email to validate their account.
They will then be able to log in again and access the course registration page directly. To complete the booking, students must complete the required data (questionnaire and choice of the Degree Course in which they are pre-enrolled), select the test date and click on “PRENOTA”.
To avoid errors, students are invited to consult the TAL booking procedure for future students.

By the day before the test, registered participants will receive an email confirming their registration.
Students can prepare for the test by trying the mock test, provided on CLA Moodle platform.
All registered students are invited to read a short document containing some indications on the structure of the test, suggestions for preparation and technical advice useful for taking the test: Instructions TAL B2 – Reading and listening.
Conducting the test:
The test will take place at CLA centre, Via Venezia 16, building 4.
Students must show up 15 minutes before the exam starts.
All students must access the test with the same credentials they entered on the test registration form.
Test results
The test results will be published within a few days on this webpage and will also be sent to the Student Registration Office (Ufficio Carriere Studenti) and to the concerned Schools.
Students who pass the test, can proceed with the registration procedures.
Students who passed the test and have successfully enrolled at the University of Padova, will receive around January an Open Badge, that they can download and print to attest their linguistic level.
The test does not provide university credits.
